Know Thy Neighbor

I heard about the website entitled “Know Thy Neighbor” from a friend of mine and I thought it was a wonderful idea. Naturally I knew that it would draw some criticism and charges that it was tantamount to harassment. Well that charge has now been made.First I have absolutely no sympathy for these people what so ever. In my opinion their signatures on that ballot initiative to negate all 6,500+ same-sex marriages already performed and ban both same-sex marriages and civil untions is harassment towards homosexuals. Even though the initiative would not appear until the 2008 ballot or that polls indicate that the initiative will fail I still think everything needs to be done to combat it and keep it off the ballot.

One thing I really like besides exposing the assholes who intentionally signed the petition, it also provides a Fraud Affidavit Form that people whose signature was gathered fraudulently as some people were tricked into signing the anti-gay proposal because they were told it was for a ballot issue on something involving wine or were told that it was to protect gay marriage. I wonder what would happen if tens of thousands of those affidavits were filled out.

Although I doubt this will ever happen, I really wish these religious and conservative morons would just knock it off, accept the fact that gay marriage is there to stay in Massachusetts, and admit that the apocalypse did not happen as they predicted.
