Southern Baptist Preacher Resigns After Arrest
Posted on | January 7, 2006
Apparently Lonnie Latham, a Southern Baptist Minister who was arrest for soliciting an undercover police officer, has tendered his resignation to the South Tulsa Baptist Church in the wake of his little “incident”. If his claim of “I was just out ministering the people” held any water, then why resign? The truly innocent would have nothing to fear from the church. You would think that the church would be rabidly defending him at that point.
I had to muffle my laughter with a pillow when I read the last paragraph of the South Tulsa Baptist Church’s release acknowledging Latham’s resignation. It says the following:
Our ability to extend Christ’s love has been a hallmark of this church and will continue to be our emphasis as we walk on our journey of faith.
What are the chances they were “extending Christ’s love” in supporting the anti-gay agenda of the Southern Baptist Convention?
Pam at Pam’s House Blend went into the trenches to see what those lovably batshit-crazy folk over at the Free Republic, commonly referred to as “freepers”, had to say and boy were they frothing at the mouth. Yes, I know it is kind of hypocritical of me to be referring to them as such, but check out Pam’s entry and the site itself and you will see why it aptly describes them. These are the same people who sent Margaret Cho large amounts of racist, homophobic e-mail following a MoveOn.Org event.

No surprises here.
When will these people, the hateful followers, learn that those that scream with such vengence usually have a full closet of thier own that they are trying to hide behind?
All I can say, is that God Karma is such a bitch. These lunatics will continue to expose (hehe) themselves for the self-loathing fags that they are, and hopefully this will help some of their followers to reconsider their position on us.
The Cho Revolution is well under way. And this asshole is one of the highly prized heads on the wall.

[Off Topic]
Mr. Angry, I saw your comment on Americablog beginning: “Speaking of Sci-Fi, what is with them and all their dumb movies?…”
Rather than answer you in that thread and make you wade through all the responses to see this, I’ll try to answer your question here:
What you’re seeing happening to the Sci-Fi channel is a result of NBC having bought it and transplanting their drek from their regular network, as well as giving people the chance to produce movies and mini-series that couldn’t/wouldn’t possibly be allowed to run on their regular network.
(This also explains why shows like “Quantum Leap” and “Knight Rider,” which originally aired on NBC are given occasional daylong marathons, in case you wondered.)
