CWA’s Panties in a Twist Over Golden Globes

About twelve hours after Brokeback Mountain took four of the seven Golden Globes for which it was nominated and two other gay films, being Capote and TransAmerica, won awards as well, the men at Concerned Women for America are all a twitter about the "leftist" agenda of Hollywood. Never mind the fact that the Hollywood Foreign Press Association are journalists who work for international publications and may or may not be affected by the "liberal agenda", but they might also be objectively rewarding good television and cinema independent of all the hype. For example they may have been recognizing Ang Lee’s directorial abilities and his ability to create good cinema with his work in Brokeback Mountain. They probably did not give a shit that it was a "gay cowboy movie".

It is both funny and pathetic that CWA, and I am sure they are not alone, can get all bent out of shape and read so deeply into an awards ceremony. Sometimes I wonder if these people just sit in a dark room all day chewing on their livers and inventing paranoid conspiracies.
