Thank You Media Matters!

I have to keep this one brief since I have to hit the grocery store in anticipation of a snow storm tonight. But I wanted to bring attention to an entry in Media Matters for America. They have pointed out something that has annoyed me ever since the day Brokeback Mountain was released: The fact that conservatives were trashing the movie and making up shit like how this movie "demonstrates the hollywood agenda" and such without ever even seeing the movie.
Being a more data-driven person, such bold claims drive me nuts. Without the data, you have absolutely nothing. My favorite thing of all is how Ang Lee pretty much states he took the job directing Brokeback because he wanted the opportunity to tell a love story with a different angle. Ang Lee is not a LGBT film director. His past credits include "Sense & Sensibility", "The Ice Storm", "Hulk", and "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon".

Actually, dude, Ang Lee has also stated that he believed taking on this project would elevate his standing in Hollywood and amongst Hollywood elite.
“This is a movie that Hollywood should have made years ago. America sometimes needs a nudge” -Ang Lee, Nov 3rd, speaking before the press in LA.
So, what was that nonsense about “Hollywood’s agenda”? Yeah, the retraction is in the mail.

Prove such an agenda exists. Without any sound data supporting its existence, one must fail to reject null.
