NBC Caves in to AFA Proving They Are Nothing But Cowards
Posted on | February 7, 2006
I once used to joke about the lack of good programming on NBC by calling it "Nothing But Crap", but now I think I will change that to "Nothing But Cowards". The network caved into to the frothing "Christians" at the American Family Association and have forced a change in a Will & Grace episode that featured Britney Spears as a conservative Christian co-host of Jack McFarland’s program doing an Easter-themed cooking segment entitled "Cruci-fixin’s".
Funny thing is that the AFA believes the episode was in retaliation for the so-called "family" group’s campaign against the network for the now-defunct show "The Book of Daniel", a show about the dysfunctional family of an Episcopal priest who takes pain-killers and talks to Jesus. AFA claims that it "won" on that particular issue while NBC claims that the decision to kill the show was one based on ratings.
First ‘The Book of Daniel’ and now this. And the networks wonder why viewers like me are increasingly watching shows on cable as opposed to ones on networks. Get some balls NBC because once Will & Grace ends its run in May, neither of my TiVo’s will be recording NBC shows. I do not expect signed letters from network executives telling AFA and its sister groups to "fuck off", but I want something close to that.

I too am no longer watching NBC after the final W&G. The Book of Daniel was the best show NBC has created since W&G and I would suggest a boycott of NBC but no one is watching them now.
