Update on Lietenant Rebrook
Posted on | February 8, 2006
In an update to an entry I posted yesterday on Lieutenant William Rebrook IV, a soldier in the US Army and graduate of West Point, AmericaBlog took up the cause and lead a donation drive which resulted in $5400 being donated in about two hours. John Aravosis just posted a little while ago that a check had been mailed to Rebrook. Rebrook plans to pay back the friends he borrowed money from to pay the $700 fee the US Army charged him for body armor that had to be destroyed per biohazard disposal regulations. Since no one documented it at the time, since you know they had his life and limb given his arm had nearly been lost due to a roadside bomb.
Additionally West Virginia’s Senators, Robert Byrd and John Rockefeller, both Democrats, have asked Army officials to explain why this situation happened.
