Fox News Shows Supposed al Aqeda Target Being Destroyed During Coverage of Bush’s Press Conference

Posted on | February 10, 2006

I largely chose to ignore Bush’s whole self-congradulatory masturbation fest of "we thwarted an attack on LA going on four years ago!" mostly because I do not believe it due to certain things like the timing of the announcement coinciding with criticism of his illegal spying program, the fact he neglected to tell the Mayor of Los Angeles about this supposed attack, and the fact that his expected bounce from the State of the Union address has yet to happen. It is suspicious like how there was a correlation between the amount of press John Kerry was getting and the terrorist threat level back in the 2004 election. But that is not the issue of this post.

While taking a break from reading news sites and such, I went over to VH1’s Best Week Ever blog and found them making a comment about how Fox News Channel, the pinnacle of unbiased reporting and journalistic integrity, was discussing this supposed thwarted attack while showing scenes from the 20th Century Fox movie ‘Independence Day’ in which the building supposedly targeted by al Qaeda terrorists is destroyed by aliens. CNN mentioned the ‘Independence Day’ connection but did not show the clip.

Best Week Ever lin ked to Media Matters for America, another RSS feed I subscribe to, which has the video.
