Army Nabs Seven in 82nd Airborne Gay Porn Witchhunt
Posted on | February 24, 2006
So the gay porn witchhunt at Fort Bragg in North Carolina has netted the military seven homos in its investigation. These seven soldiers allegedly engaged in sex acts which were filmed for the site ActiveDuty.Com which is registered in Fayetteville, NC, which is the town adjacent to Fort Bragg. All seven of these individuals were members of 2nd Battalion of the 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment within the Army’s 82nd Airborne. Three of the soldiers, Spc. Richard T. Ashley, Pfc. Wesley K. Mitten, and Pvt. Kagen B. Mullen, will be facing court martial hearings and will be arraigned on March 7th on charges of sodomy, pandering, and engaging in sex acts for money. The other four, who are not named, will receive "nonjudicial penalties" which include punishments such as:
- Rank reduction to Private
- Forfeit of one month’s pay
- Forty-five days restriction to the unit area
- Forty-five days extra duty
In addition to the listed punishments, the US Army has recommended all seven be dishonorably discharged as are the conditions of the homophobic "Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell" policy. All attempts to contact the site’s owner by the media have failed.
Under military code of justice, such behavior is illegal regardless of sexuality. So this is not about whether it is right or wrong for them to have been making pornography while enlisted. They signed an agreement that they will adhere to the rules the military sets forth for as far as that is concerned, they are in the wrong. Even the Servicemembers Legal Defense Network seems to be in agreement.
The problem I have with this issue, as one of my readers who is married to a man in the Navy pointed out, this is a big issue for the military because these individuals are homosexual. The last big heterosexual scandal that I can remember with the military was Tailhook. My reader, KP, in a comment in my earlier entry on this matter had the following to say:
"The problem is, when it’s straight soldiers/sailors it’s not nearly as publicized by the MSM.
There’ve been several porn rings onboard my husband’s ship and there’s been little said in the local papers. He’s told me about male superiors (E7 and above) take nude photos of junior enlisted females. There’ve been prostitution rings onboard. There’s some punishments doled out but from what I’ve been told, it seems like the women take the brunt of it.
This is only a big deal because the media is making it one. Sexual shit like this happens all the time and it’s swept under the rug if it’s between heteros."
