Pat Robetson Says God Told Him 2006 Hurrican Season Going to Be a Busy One
Posted on | May 18, 2006
Looks like theological meteorologist Pat Robertson has weighed in on the 2006 hurricane season which kicks off officially on June 1st. According to Robertson in January during a prayer retreat God spoke to him and said that "If I heard the Lord right about 2006, the coasts of America will be lashed by storms" and that the Pacific North West might have to deal with a tsunami.
What is really funny is that on December 5th, 2005, Dr. William Gray, a noted expert on hurricanes, and his team at Colorado State University has already made a pre-season forecast that the 2006 hurricane season will be above average again. Dr. Gray has predicted that there will be about seventeen named storms and nine hurricanes five of which will be Category 3 or higher. So it looks like Pat Robertson is just spinning the meteorologists’ prediction into a tool of religious terrorism.
But of course statements like these are nothing new for Pat. He drew heavy criticism when he advocated the assassination of Venezuelan President hugo Chavez and when he stated Ariel Sharon, the Prime Minister of Israel, suffered a stroke as divine retribution for pulling out of the Gaza Strip.
